Does this sound like you?

It’s late, the edits keep piling up, and the excitement that got you started now feels like pressure to keep up. You love what you do, but you’re craving connection, clarity, and confidence in where you’re headed.

Hi, I’m Shyah. I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to juggle clients, edits, and self-doubt — and wonder if it’s all going somewhere. That’s why I started Northbound.

Meet Your Host

I’m Shyah Yan Zarrabi, the videographer behind Shyah K. Films and the founder of the Northbound Videographer Conference.

What started as a small idea to bring filmmakers together in 2022 has grown into a trusted, five-year-strong community for creators who care about more than just the next booking — they care about craft, connection, and longevity.

I’ve filmed hundreds of weddings and commercial projects across Canada, hosted Northbound since year one, and my mission hasn’t changed: to help you build a videography career that lasts — without burning out or losing your joy along the way.
